We're planning to retire the Community Data Portal (CDP) after nearly 15 years of service. The most active datasets will be migrated to the Climate Data Gateway website. We tentatively plan to shutdown the CDP service by Jan 31, 2018. Please contact us with questions or concerns.
Coupled Ocean Atmosphere and European Climate (COAPEC)
Publisher: GB/NCAS/BADC > British Atmospheric Data Centre, NERC Centres for Atmospheric Science, United Kingdom  [contact email: BADC AT rl.ac.uk]  [web page]
Summary: COAPEC (Coupled Ocean Atmosphere and European Climate)is a NERC thematic programme designed to examine the variability of the Earths climate. Interactions between the oceans and the atmosphere play a major role in governing this variability. The goal of COAPEC is to determine the impact on climate (particularly European climate) of the coupling between the Atlantic Ocean and the atmosphere, and the influence of ENSO on this coupling. A 100 year dataset of full fields derived from the HadCM3 model is now stored at the BADC. This dataset is currently being extended to include 1000 years of limited fields from this model.
